150 years of tap water in Stockholm

The water works in Skanstull was also the first in Sweden.

There were at that time no taps in houses, only six tap places with free water in different places. But already at the end of 1861 80 houses with 2500 rooms were connected.

The summer of 1862 showed a considerable increase in population health, leading to a recommendation not to use the circa 30 wells still in use.
